More Than 30,000 Homes Remain In Danger From Southern California
Fires - State of Emergency Declared in Los Angeles, San Barnardino,
San Diego and Ventura Counties Free Disaster Recovery Guide Is
Available to People Affected by Fires To Help Minimize Financial
Loss and Expedite Financial Recovery LOS ANGELES, Oct. 27
/PRNewswire/ -- From the Mexican border to the suburbs north of Los
Angeles, large sections of the region were under siege. More than
825 homes have been destroyed. The death toll is the worst since
the 1991 fire in the Oakland hills of Alameda County that killed 25
and destroyed more than 3,200 homes and apartments. The American
Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) has teamed up
with the American Red Cross and the National Endowment for
Financial Education (NEFE) to develop a Disaster Recovery Guide for
the American public to help guide them through the steps that can
follow a disaster as well as steps to take prepare for possible
disaster caused by fires or other disasters. The guide can be
