Acer Inc. (2353.TW) expects its revenue in 2009 to be on a par with its revenue last year, supported by growing demand in China and elsewhere in Asia, company President Gianfranco Lanci said Wednesday.

"We don't expect revenue to decline this year, which is outstanding compared to our competitors. Therefore, we're (expecting) good growth in 2010 again," Lanci said at a news conference in London.

Acer's revenue in 2008 was NT$546.27 billion.

Lanci also said he expects Acer to overtake Dell to become the world's second-largest personal computer maker by shipments, after Hewlett-Packard Co.

"Between this quarter and the next, we can finally pass Dell," Lanci said.
