Gold first got near $2,000/oz in 2011 and then dropped. In 2023 it was still around $2,000 .... then over the past 2 years it rallied to $5,400 .... seems much more correlated to pure momentum than the national debt and deficits which were also increasing from 2011 to 2023 while gold did nothing.
