DELRAY BEACH, Fla., Jan. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MedStrong International Corporation (OTC:MDSI/MDSIW) (BULLETIN BOARD: MDSI/MDSIW) announced today that Mark J. Minkin has been appointed by the Board of Directors to serve as Senior Vice President of Marketing for the Internet company, effective immediately. Minkin was also appointed to the office of corporate Secretary, and will join the board as a director. News of MedStrong hiring Minkin comes one week after the Internet company announced its new President and CEO, Stephen J. Bartkiw, AOL Canada founder and former CEO. With Minkin heading marketing efforts, MedStrong now has two AOL alumni in strategic positions to guide the company's recently announced plans to adopt a Web 2.0 business platform and launch a social networking site. "Having worked with Mark for years through AOL's explosive growth, I know what he is capable of and how right he is for this position," said MedStrong President and CEO, Stephen J. Bartkiw. "Mark is very passionate about marketing and has a stellar track record. He will be instrumental to our new venture." Minkin brings to MedStrong more than two decades of experience in advertising, marketing and market development at such notable companies as AOL, Redgate Communications Corporation, Hill Holliday and Honeywell, among others. In 1994, Minkin was Redgate's Senior Vice President of Business Development when AOL purchased the new media company founded by Ted Leonsis. Leonsis was appointed AOL President and Minkin was immediately charged with leading AOL's advertising efforts, reporting directly to Leonsis. Shortly after AOL began international expansion plans, Minkin was made Vice President and Managing Director for New Market Development, directly resulting in the launch of AOL services in Latin America, Australia and Hong Kong. He remained in that role with AOL in 2001. Prior to AOL, Minkin spent more than 25 years in marketing and advertising at ad agencies and corporations, living and working on both US coasts, as well as London, Paris, Sydney and Hong Kong. "Web 2.0 invites fresh thinking and creativity," said Minkin, from MedStrong's new headquarters in Delray Beach, Florida. "And I'm really passionate about introducing new products and services to consumers." He adds, "Plus, it's a thrill to be working with Stephen again. Our skills will complement each other perfectly in this venture."
