LOV Louvem Mines Inc.

Louvem Mines Inc. ("Louvem") (TSX VENTURE: LOV) announces that the board of directors has appointed Mr. Martin Rivard as the Company's Chairman of the Board and President and Chief Executive Officer to replace Mr. Jean-Guy Rivard, who suddenly died on March 28, 2009. Jean-Guy Rivard has held these functions since February 1994.

The board of directors is in the opinion that Martin Rivard is well positioned for this transition. Since 1996 he works for Richmont Mines Inc. (TSX/NYSE Amex: RIC), the parent company of Louvem and in October 2005, was promoted President and Chief Executive Officer. The appointment of Martin Rivard as Chairman of the Board and President and Chief Executive Officer of Louvem is effective as of April 7, 2009 by resolution of the board.
