Cassidy Gold Corp. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:CDY) is pleased to announce
updated resource figures for its 100% owned Kouroussa Gold Project in Guinea,
West Africa. Indicated resources have increased to 680,000 ounces of gold
contained in 11,380,000 tonnes grading 1.9 g/t Au and Inferred Resources to
363,000 ounces of gold contained in 6,466,000 tonnes grading 1.7 g/t Au.
Resource drilling in 2008 increased the Indicated Resources by 46% over 2007 by
converting significant Inferred Resources to Indicated and by expanding the
overall resource base. Most of the gold resources reported lie within 120 metres
of the surface. Table 1 summarizes the Indicated and Inferred resources at
Kouroussa estimated using a 0.7 g/t Au cut-off grade and a 3-metre minimum
horizontal thickness.

Infill and step-out drilling at Koekoe and Sodyanfe increased the Indicated
resources by 214,000 ounces, in effect, by upgrading 114,000 ounces of Inferred
resource and adding an additional 100,000 ounces of new resources. This resource
update saw a drop in the Indicated grade from 2.15 g/t to 1.9 g/t and no change
in the Inferred grade at 1.7 g/t.

Koekoe Trend

The Koekoe Trend hosts an Indicated resource of 420,000 ounces of gold in
5,586,000 tonnes grading 2.3 g/t Au and an Inferred resource of 293,000 ounces
of gold in 4,963,000 tonnes grading 1.8 g/t Au. Within the Koekoe area, the Sanu
Filanan deposit increased its total resources to 255,000 Indicated ounces and
198,000 Inferred ounces. The largest increases were noted in KD-1, where the
Indicated resource grew 71% to 77,000 ounces and the Inferred resource
correspondingly fell 43% to 33,000 ounces. The Indicated resource grew over 43%
at JJ to 63,000 ounces and 7% at Sanu Folo to 16,000 ounces. Sanu Filanan North
contributed 9,000 ounces of Indicated resource and 17,000 ounces of Inferred
resource (see Table 2). All five deposits have significant potential to increase
with additional resource drilling.

Sodyanfe Trend

On the Sodyanfe Trend, 2 kilometres northwest of Koekoe, resource drilling
linked the Junction and Bag Farm zones quadrupling the Indicated resources to
125,000 ounces of Au in 3,441,000 tonnes grading 1.1 g/t Au from 31,000 ounces
in the 2007 estimate. Inferred resources at Junction/Bag Farm and X-Vein remain
small (Table 3). Junction Zone mineralization is open to the northeast,
southwest toward Bag Farm, and down dip. Unlike Koekoe and Kinkine, Sodyanfe is
largely hosted in mudstones along the western flank of a series of mafic
volcanic rocks known as the Niandan Chain. The north-trending X Vein is hosted
within pillowed flows of the Niandan. Future exploration will focus on targets
to the northeast of Junction and southwest of Bag Farm. More work remains to be
done along the eastern flank of the Niandan volcanics.

Kinkine Trend

No new drilling was carried out at Kinkine, located 4 kilometres northeast of
Koekoe, during the 2008 program. Most mineralization at Kinkine, as at Koekoe,
is hosted within a gabbro plug emplaced along a regional northeast trending
fault, the Kinkine Fault. Planned regional exploration will target this
structural trend.

Coffey Mining has validated and interpreted the data, constructed wire frames,
completed 3-dimensional block models, and estimated resources for each of the
mineralized zones using an Ordinary Kriging technique. Resource estimates were
prepared and reported in accordance with Canadian National Instrument 43-101,
Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects and the classifications adopted by
CIM Council in December 2005.

Metallurgical test work and process design investigations completed by SGS
Lakefield under the direction of SENET Engineering, confirmed excellent
recoveries from composite samples collected from the Koekoe Trend and the
Kinkine Trend. Gravity and carbon-in-leach (CIL) techniques are being evaluated
individually and together.

Metallurgical test work completed by AMMTEC in December 2006 reported that four
of five samples submitted for test work from the Junction deposit were highly
refractory in nature due to the presence of preg-robbing carbon. The consequence
of this would be significantly reduced recovery from this deposit.

Cassidy is awaiting the results of a scoping study currently underway. Coffey
Mining and SENET Engineering are looking at various mining and processing
options in an attempt to optimize potential project economics. The scoping study
is expected to be completed by the end of 2008.
