Association, a global initiative dedicated to providing an open
standard for the delivery of broadcast and broadband services
through connected TVs and set-top boxes, is pleased to announce the
"HbbTV Symposium: Asia". It will
be the largest HbbTV conference in Asia and is to take place on June 18th, 2014 at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel,
Singapore during the Broadcast
Asia and CommunicAsia 2014 tradeshows.
"HbbTV Symposium: Asia" will
feature industry leaders from suppliers, operators and broadcasters
who will review the latest developments and approaches to
designing, building, and launching successful HbbTV services.
Attendees will develop broad HbbTV insights through their
engagement with expert presentations and panels. They will be able
to leverage this knowledge to develop and apply advanced hybrid TV

Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV (or "HbbTV") is a major global
initiative aimed at harmonising the broadcast and broadband
delivery of entertainment services to the end consumer through
connected TVs and set‐top boxes. The HbbTV specification was
developed by industry leaders to effectively manage the rapidly
increasing amount of available content targeted at today's end
consumer. It is based on elements of existing specifications
including OIPF (Open IPTV Forum), CEA, DVB, MPEG-DASH and W3C.
