LIN Media (NYSE: TVL), a local multimedia company, today announced the promotions of William Gaffney to Vice President Digital Operations and Michael Kelly to Vice President Digital Revenue.

Since joining the Company as Regional Interactive Director in 2008, Mr. Gaffney has been at the forefront of embracing new technologies and launching innovative products, services and programs for web, mobile and video platforms that engage audiences around LIN Media’s market-leading brands and generate new advertising opportunities. Specifically, Mr. Gaffney helped create and implement LIN Media’s multiplatform content syndication strategy, securing numerous national and local video syndication partnerships that delivered 30 million video impressions in the third quarter of 2010. In addition, Mr. Gaffney helped launch LIN Media’s mobile marketing strategy, including mobile display, video and SMS text marketing solutions, that generated 56 million impressions in the third quarter of 2010, a 93% increase year-over-year. Most recently, Mr. Gaffney is credited with the development and launch of onPolitix, a robust online platform for the highly engaged political consumer.

Mr. Kelly also joined LIN Media in 2008 as the Company’s Director of Interactive/New Media Sales and has successfully identified and delivered innovative sales and marketing campaigns designed to create additional advertising opportunities for our local business customers Mr. Kelly has also been instrumental in new product development design and sales training, including the integration of RMM’s full suite of online advertising solutions. Under the leadership of Mr. Kelly, LIN Media’s multiplatform sales force has teamed up with RMM’s online sales force and media analysts to expand the scope of the Company’s offerings beyond its traditional markets. All of LIN Media’s 32 television stations are now marketing RMM's innovative and targeted products, including custom display, vertical display, search and e-mail marketing solutions.

Since the launch of LIN Media’s digital plan in 2007, digital revenues, which include Internet advertising revenues and retransmission consent fees, have grown from $10.1 million to $43.8 million or 332%1, and comprise 14 percent of total revenues2. Mr. Gaffney and Mr. Kelly’s promotions signify LIN Media’s continued focus and investment in the growth of its digital media assets.
