Spartech Features Award-Winning Packaging Solutions and Presents on the Innovation Stage at PACK EXPO 2012

ST. LOUIS, MO - October 26,
2012 - SpartechCorporation (NYSE: SEH), a leading producer
of plastic sheet, compounds and packaging products, will feature
award-winning packaging solutions at PACK EXPO International, 2012
in Chicago, Ill.
Spartech will showcase its 1-Seal(TM) technology,
winner of the 2012 SPI International Plastics Design Competition
Packaging Award at NPE. The 1-Seal lidding technology offers brands
in the food industry a durable, re-sealable, recyclable packaging
solution that eliminates the need for foil or film seals. Using an
in-mold lid, the 1-Seal solution caps and seals in one
manufacturing step. The re-sealable lid provides an air and
water-tight seal for guaranteed freshness, making it ideal for
multi-serving products.
The 1-Seal solution has been featured in Packaging
Digest, Packaging World, Brand Packaging and Food & Beverage
Packaging magazines. The technology was also listed in Packaging
World's '34 Best Packaging Designs' 2012 issue.
Spartech will exhibit an ORICS MR-35 Rotary
Packaging System in the booth to demonstrate the process of filling
and sealing the 1-Seal packaging. The equipment will de-nest trays,
fill and heat seal in a roughly 36 inch square footprint. The
machine fills, seals, and overcaps at speeds up to 30 containers
per minute.
Inland Label, who recently partnered with Spartech
Packaging Technologies to produce IML labels for 1-Seal packaging,
will showcase 1-Seal packaging with IML lids produced by Inland
Label in their booth (N-5630).
Jeffrey Best, Spartech Director of
Marketing-Packaging Technologies, will present a 1-Seal case study
on the PACK EXPO International Innovation Stage, October 29, at 10
a.m. CST.
Spartech's Intelliform(TM) (form-fill-seal
packaging) and PreservaPak(TM) (barrier packaging) will also be on
display at the show. Intelliform, recognized for its high quality
and consistent product performance, provides food marketers with a
solution to reduce overall packaging costs and provide the consumer
with a multi-unit packaging format for convenience and mobility. In
2011, Danone North America awarded Spartech the "Supplier of the
Year-Raw Materials & Packaging" Award for Spartech's ability to
provide high quality, custom-engineered EnviroAir® foamed
form-fill-seal rollstock for yogurt packaging.
PreservaPak(TM), Spartech's re-branded line of
barrier rollstock and thermoformed trays will be available on
display in food packaging applications from shelf-stable packaging
to dairy creamers and brewed beverage pods.
