Assicurazioni Generali SpA's (G.MI) exposure to Carnival PLC (CCL.LN), the operator of the Costa Concordia cruise ship which ran aground off the coast of Italy Friday, is marginal, a Generali spokesman said Monday.

The Trieste-based insurer is among the insurance companies exposed to the disaster.

Cruise Costa Concordia ran aground after striking a rock formation near a small island off the Tuscany coast. So far, six people have been reported dead, with a number of passengers still reported missing.
