Riverbed Technology (NASDAQ: RVBD), the IT performance company, today announced that it ranked third among large companies on the San Francisco Business Times and Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal Best Places to Work in the Bay Area 2011 Awards list. Honorees received the designation based on employee assessment at companies in 12 counties around the greater Bay Area. Riverbed® was the highest ranking technology firm in this category.

The Best Places to Work awards recognize the top 125 employers in five categories based on company size. The large company category is defined as organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area with 501-1,500 employees. The assessment and resulting rankings of employers were based on a multiple choice survey taken by employees that provided feedback in categories that include employee engagement, communication strategies, management effectiveness, trust in leadership, compensation and benefits, and training and recognition, which were then tabulated by research firm Quantum Workplace.
