SAN DIEGO, Nov. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Peregrine
Semiconductor Corp. (NASDAQ: PSMI), founder of RF SOI (silicon on
insulator) and pioneer of advanced RF solutions, announces its
acceptance as a technical committee member on the Automotive
Electronics Council (AEC). The AEC provides common
part-qualification and quality-system standards for the automotive
electronics industry.
"Peregrine is honored to join a select group of leading
automotive industry suppliers on the Automotive Electronics
Council, an organization that propels the automotive electronics
industry forward with standards for reliable, high-quality
components," says Mark Miscione,
Peregrine's vice president of RF technology solutions and quality.
"Peregrine has made and continues to make a significant investment
in our quality program. Representation on this council recognizes
this investment and provides us with the opportunity to stay
focused on the stringent quality requirements, especially in
regards to the harsh automotive environment."
Peregrine has a long, established history of working with
automotive ODMs (original design manufacturers), and the company
has several automotive products that meet the AEC-Q100 Grade 2
requirements—the AEC's stress test qualification for integrated
circuits. This level of qualification enables ODMs to confidently
use the product in the rigorous automotive environment without
additional component-level qualification testing. Additionally,
Peregrine maintains TS-16949 compliance and certification.
Based on UltraCMOS® technology, Peregrine's automotive products
enable superior ESD protection and reliable operation at
temperatures up to 105-degrees Celsius. These benefits, paired with
the repeatability and reliability of the UltraCMOS manufacturing
process, make Peregrine's automotive RF products ideal for systems
including remote keyless entry, infotainment, telematics, emergency
communication and automatic toll systems.
