Item 8.01 Other Events.
On July 9, 2013, Omthera Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (the Company) issued a press release relating to the submission by the Company of a New Drug Application (NDA) to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) seeking approval for the marketing and sale of Epanova for the treatment for patients with severe hypertriglyceridemia (triglyceride levels greater than or equal to 500mg/dL). A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
