MRO Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: MROI), the leading provider of asset and service management solutions, today announced that Flint Hills Resources has 'gone live' with Maximo Enterprise Suite (MXES). Flint Hills Resources, which is based in Wichita, Kan., has completed the first phase of the MXES implementation at its Corpus Christi, Texas, refining complex. The solution will replace multiple computerized maintenance management systems and be used to track, maintain and manage assets at refinery, chemical and terminal complexes in Alaska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Texas and Canada. The MXES architecture will allow FHR to meet the project's objectives: -- Successfully replace current platforms with a single common solution that uses current work practices; -- Create a platform that enables relative ease in incorporating new acquisitions; -- Enable new functionality where it makes sense; and -- Leverage IT resources and spending. This recent implementation with FHR is further evidence of MRO Software's on-going support for the oil and gas industries. Recently the Company increased its commitment to the oil and gas industry by releasing Maximo Oil & Gas on the MXES platform. This industry specific solution helps companies reduce cost, facilitate common processes, and ensure the toughest challenges of: improving asset analysis, ensuring compliance, planning shutdowns, instilling integrity management, reducing manual intervention, addressing complex supply chain demands, facilitating continuous improvement, standardizing and sharing data, and improving organizational learning. "To be successful in today's competitive refining and chemical businesses, it is imperative that we manage our existing and planned infrastructure in the most efficient means possible," Greg Surniak, computerized maintenance management systems project manager for Flint Hills Resources. "Our future vision requires us to achieve operational excellence by quickly implementing the best maintenance practices at existing facilities as well as new ones. In order to stay ahead of this growth curve, we evaluated a number of solutions in the asset and service management market and selected Maximo Enterprise Suite. We expect that when the MXES solution is completed, we will have laid a solid foundation for operational excellence." "Future project phases could then further streamline our work processes, improve asset tracking and enhance budget accountability, improve material processes, and reduce costs through standardization on one software platform," added Surniak. The initial phase of FHR's implementation commenced with a project team selection in Q4 2004, Maximo MXES selection in Q1 2005, and concluded with a 'go-live' at the end of Q2 2006. Phase One includes more than 1,100 users with an ultimate target of more than 2,400 users once fully implemented." "MRO Software is committed to the Oil & Gas industry and has a dedicated group of resources focused on the segment. This includes a separate development group and an Advisory Council that align with industry direction. The MXES architecture enables MRO Software to develop functionality very rapidly. We are able to work with our customers and quickly bring to market functional enhancements to address industry specific requirements", said Johan Arts, vice president - industry & solutions Marketing, MRO Software. "In the past, specific functional requirements of various business groups prevented consolidation of asset management systems. Upstream exploration & production and downstream refining all ended up selecting their own asset management solutions. The strength of the MXES platform combined with the industry specific functionality allows companies to now implement a single, enterprise level solution for all of their critical assets."
