Hawaiian Telcom Completes $13.9 Million Sale of Parcel of Land on Oahu

HONOLULU (Thursday, June 27, 2013) - Hawaiian Telcom, Inc. has sold a 3.31 acre portion of its 10-acre property in Mapunapuna on Oahu to U.S. Kinden Corporation dba Wasa Electrical for approximately $13.9 million. Hawaiian Telcom will retain the larger portion of the site for baseyard operations.  

In late May, the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission approved Hawaiian Telcom's proposed sale and plan to reinvest the net proceeds into network broadband infrastructure improvements and broadband employee training.

The property, located just off of the Moanalua Freeway, is within three miles of the Honolulu International Airport and the Honolulu Harbor. In January 2012, Hawaiian Telcom announced it had subdivided the property into separate parcels to allow three underutilized acres to be sold.
