Bakers Footwear Reports 12.8% Comparable Store Sales Increase in February 2009

Bakers Footwear Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: BKRS), a leading specialty retailer of moderately priced fashion footwear for young women, with 239 stores, today reported February 2009 sales.

For February, the four-week period ended February 28, 2009, net sales increased 10.6% to $13.9 million, compared to $12.6 million in the same period last year. Comparable store sales (sales for stores open at least one year or more) for the four-week February 2009 period increased 12.8%, compared to a decrease of 13.4% for the four-week period ended March 1, 2008.
