                          NEW MOBILE HANDSET LAUNCHED

ZTC Telecommunications Plc (LSE AIM: ZTC.L), a fast growing China based domestic
designer, assembler and marketer of mobile phone handsets, today updates its
shareholders on the recent introduction of its latest model, the ZT 3158.


This new phone's key feature is its ultra-long standby battery life - of up to
68 days (1,632 hours) - and also incorporates some of the latest mobile phone
technologies available in the Chinese market. The launch of this stylish new
model brings ZTC's total number of handsets currently in the market to six.


Key handset features:

  * Ultra-long battery standby time of up to 68 days (1,632 hours) without
    recharge;

  * Smart Power Save - light sensors for different environments; automatically
    adjusts the brightness of the LCD screen to surrounding light to save power;

  * 2 GSM SIM cards - ease of switching between two cards effectively reduces
    roaming charges;

  * Large colour 2.4 inch LCD screen with Touch Display

  * Web camera for face-to-face online calls;

  * Improved Speakers and T Flash Card memory (512M upgradeable to 1 Gig) has
    improved sound quality and ability to store more music and video
