Lusaka,  Zambia:  Monday  12 February 2001: A Spokesperson  of  ZCCM INVESTMENTS
HOLDINGS  PLC  announces that following regulatory approvals,  the  Company  has
changed its Accounting Reference Period of 1 April to 31 March to a new one of 1
July  to  30 June. As a consequence of this, the Company will produce  financial
results  covering  a 15 months period 1 April 2000 to 30 June 2001.  Thereafter,
the Company will revert to a 12 months Accounting Reference Period of 1 July  to
30 June of the following year.

This announcement is made as a matter of record only. The Company's Shareholders
will   be  advised  of  the  change  through  the  DIRECTORS  QUARTERLY  SUMMARY
INCORPORATING FINANCIAL RESULTS FOR THE QUARTER ENDED 30 September 2000,  which
will be sent to them shortly.
