VAN DIEMAN MINES PLC (the "Company") 
 
 
Suspension of Trading on AIM 
 
 
The Company yesterday received a demand from a major creditor for repayment of 
all sums owed under the terms of the loan note instrument in regards of a 
principal amount of GBP6.75 million. 
 
 
As a result, the Company has entered into negotiations with the creditor with a 
view to assessing the ongoing viability of the Company's operations. 
 
 
The Company announces that it has requested that trading in its shares on AIM be 
suspended with immediate effect pending the clarification of the financial 
position of the Company. 
 
 
A further announcement will be made in due course.
