                         ("Tianshan" or the "Company")

                            APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR


The Board of Tianshan Goldfields Limited ("Tianshan" or "the Company") is
pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Jason Bontempo as an Executive
Director of the Company, with immediate effect .


Jason Anthony Bontempo, aged 34, has worked with the Company in the capacity of
Chief Financial Officer for the last two years. Mr Bontempo was closely involved
with the Company's admission to AIM and its ongoing corporate and financial
affairs.


Prior to joining Tianshan, Mr Bontempo worked in investment banking and
corporate advisory after qualifying as a chartered accountant with Ernst & Young
in 1997.


Jason Bontempo is currently a director of the following companies:


*         Mojo Minerals Limited;
*         Stirling Minerals Limited; and
*         BR Corporation Pty Limited



He is not a partner of any partnership and has not been a director or partner of
any other company or partnership in the previous five years.

Jason Bontempo holds 240,000 ordinary shares in the Company and 1,500,000
options.

There is no other information required to be disclosed pursuant to Schedule 2
(g) of the AIM Rules for Companies.
