QUIKTRAK SECURES MAJOR BIKE SECURITY ORDER
QuikTrak Networks plc (Ticker: "QTR"), the secure tracking and data messaging
network operator, today announced that Get Bike have placed a major order for
its motorbike security device, the QT6090.
The Security Device
The QT6090 is a covert motorcycle security device that provides real time
tracking and alarm monitoring. An alarm activation signal can be sent either
direct to the owner via a mobile phone and/or a QuikTrak authorised Monitoring
Centre. The QT6090 will automatically arm after the ignition is turned off or
when the bike has been left idle after being disarmed.
Once armed, the bike's ignition and motion detector are monitored for any
activity. Activation of either of these sensors will generate an alarm signal
and commence tracking of the bike. Arming and disarming of the device can only
be done with an electronically coded tag, unique to each installation. The
device is hidden within the bike and is sold through UK motorbike dealerships.
Get Bike
The Get Bike group of companies offers a 'one-stop' solution for motorcyclists
by providing compulsory basic training, sales, insurance and accessories through
to advanced rider training, servicing and vehicle security.
Chris Kyriakou, CEO of QuikTrak commented:
"Following very successful trials by Get Bike of the QuikTrak vehicle recovery
system, I am very pleased to announce that a large order has been placed for the
motorcycle units. Adding QuikTrak to Get Bike's product range could lead to
significant savings for their customers in terms of lower insurance premiums,
reduced excess for theft and a greatly increased probability of recovering the
motorcycle if stolen. The new QuikTrak bike product has generated a
considerable amount of interest with more and more companies requesting to trial
the product."

Notes To Editors
QuikTrak
QuikTrak is a telecommunications business that specialises in secure, reliable
and low-cost location, real-time tracking and mobile data communications. The
Company provides solutions for locating and tracking vehicles, people and mobile
assets through a terrestrial positioning network based on patented technology.
QuikTrak is able to locate objects or people that may be hidden from view;
unlike GPS-GSM systems it is almost impossible to jam and does not require '
line-of-sight. This difference not only makes QuikTrak more effective and more
secure than existing tracking technologies but the system provides a lower cost
alternative to other tracking solutions available in the market.
QuikTrak Technology Applications
The potential applications for the technology are diverse, but currently
QuikTrak is focussing on a number of key areas including:
* Lone Worker Protection - tracking of individuals who work alone such as
emergency services workers. The QuikTrak technology is to be trialled by a
number of UK police forces, local councils, service organisations and
Primary Health Care Trusts.
* Commercial Fleet and Personnel Management - tracking of commercial
vehicles such as courier or freight companies. In this market the QuikTrak
technology is currently being trialled by companies such as a leading
London-based courier company and utility and services organisations.
* Security Systems - such as asset security (for example cars,
motorbikes, plant and equipment) and alarm systems. In this market
QuikTrak is currently being trialled by a number of high profile companies.
QuikTrak Revenue Model
QuikTrak earns revenue from the sale of the tracking/messaging device. Ongoing
revenue is then secured by charging a recurring annual connection fee and for '
airtime usage.' The business model aims to partner with service providers in
specific sectors rather than seek to sell directly into the sector.
