NEW WORLD OIL AND GAS PLC ("New World" or "the Company")

Result of Extraordinary General Meeting

New World is pleased to announce that at the Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company held today, both resolutions were duly passed.

Accordingly, the Company is able to pursue opportunities outside the oil and gas sector, and is authorised to release the second tranche of the loan to Big Sofa Limited as referred to in the Company's announcement of 9 May 2016 ("Previous Announcement").

A further announcement will be made regarding this second tranche as and when it is drawn down. The Company's shares remain suspended from trading on AIM in accordance with the Previous Announcement.
