            Victor Benjamin retires from Board of Lex Service PLC

Lex Service PLC, the motoring and business solutions group, announces that its
Deputy Chairman Victor Benjamin retired from the Board on 12 December 2001
after 30 years' service.

Mr Benjamin, aged 66, was appointed to the Board as a non-executive director
on 9 December 1971.

Sir Trevor Chinn, Chairman, Lex Service PLC, commented:

"Lex has benefited greatly from Victor's wise counsel and experience over the
past 30 years. On behalf of the Board I would like to extend my sincere thanks
for his contribution during this time."
