                            CHAIRMAN'S AGM STATEMENT


At today's Annual General Meeting of specialist information publisher Electric
Word plc, the chairman, Peter Rigby said:


"Trading so far this year has been ahead of 2005 and is in line with the Board's
expectations in both the Public Sector Management and Sports publishing
operating divisions.


"SportBusiness Group, which was acquired at the end of December, is progressing
well and integration of the business is on schedule.  Revenues from and
participation in our first sports industry conference, which opens tomorrow,
have exceeded expectations.


"We have also been encouraged by Thursday's Budget statement on funding for
education and sport, our two biggest market sectors. The additional investment
in state education, especially the continuing devolution of funds directly to
schools, will provide us with further opportunities to support the professional
development of teachers and managers. We will also be exploring publishing
opportunities presented by the new School Olympics initiative and the #600m of
additional funding for elite athletes leading up to 2012.


"2006 looks set to be another exciting year for the Group as we aim to continue
the organic development of the business and review appropriate acquisition
opportunities to add scale in our well defined areas."
