                           Director's Share Purchase

D1 Oils Plc ("the Company") has today received notification that Elliott Mannis,
Chief Executive, purchased 11,500 ordinary shares in the Company on 18 January
2006 at a price of 217 pence per share. This brings his total holding to 93,516
ordinary shares representing 0.30% of the issued ordinary share capital of the
Company.
