Downing Healthcare Protected VCT plc  announces its unaudited Net Asset Value at
31 December 2004 (after deducting the interim dividend detailed below) was 99.0
pence per share.


An interim dividend of 1.5 pence per share will be paid on 29 April 2005 to
Shareholders on the register at 8 April 2005.


The Board also announces that Tony McGing has decided to resign as a director of
the Company with immediate effect, in order focus to on an enhanced executive
role within the investment management subsidiary, Downing Healthcare Managers
Limited.
