CLOSE BROTHERS PROTECTED VCT PLC

SHARE PURCHASE, VOTING RIGHTS AND CAPITAL
Close Brothers Protected VCT PLC announces that it has today purchased 47,586 Ordinary shares at a price of 60 pence per share. The
Ordinary shares purchased represent 0.23% of the total number of voting rights in the Company before the transaction.

These shares will be cancelled.
In addition, 10,000 Ordinary shares from treasury will be cancelled.
Following this transaction, and, in conformity with the Transparency Directive's transitional provision 6 we would like to notify the
market of the following;
Close Brothers Protected VCT PLC's capital today consists of 23,292,943 Ordinary shares with a nominal value of 50p each, with voting
rights. The Company holds 2,322,955 Ordinary shares in Treasury.
Therefore, the total number of voting rights in Close Brothers Protected VCT PLC is 20,969,988.
The figure of 20,969,988 may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are
required to notify their interest in, or change to their interest in Close Brothers Protected VCT PLC under the FSA's Disclosure and
Transparency Rules.
