Skanska Wednesday said it has received a tunnel construction
contract for a power transmission cable in the London area, worth
GBP92M or approximately SEK970M.
MAIN FACTS:
- The contract will be included in 2010 4Q bookings.
- The customer is the construction company Costain, which is
working on behalf of gas and electricity company National Grid.
- The contract is for cable tunnels, for the 33 kilometer
high-voltage electricity cables between Hackney and Willesden and
between Kensal Green and Wimbledon in southwest London.
- It also includes the construction of access shafts and head
houses for electrical equipment.
- Construction is to commence in 2011 and tunneling will be
completed by the end of 2014. The entire project with all
associated works will becompleted during 2018.
