                         CANCELLATION OF LISTING
                         
On Tuesday 13 July 1999 CALA announced that application had been made to the
London Stock Exchange to cancel the listing of the ordinary shares of 5 pence
each and the 2.8% non voting cumulative redeemable preference shares of #1
each and that the listings of the ordinary shares and the preference shares
would be cancelled on Wednesday 14 July 1999.  

CALA today announces that the London Stock Exchange has advised that the
listings of the ordinary shares and the preference shares will be cancelled on
Friday 16 July 1999.
