                         Base Group PLC (the "Company")


                           Application for Admission

Pursuant to the announcement made by the Company on 8 June 2001 concerning the
acquisition of Icon Management Solutions Limited and its subsidiaries ("Icon"),
the Company has today applied for 42,441,600 new ordinary shares of 1p each in
the Company ("New Ordinary Shares"), to be admitted to the Alternative
Investment Market ("AIM"). Such admission to AIM is expected to become effective
on 12 September 2002.
