Letter to Burtonwood PLC

We hereby notify you in accordance with Part VI of the Companies Act 1985
(the Act) that:

a)   as at 6 January 2005, The Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries PLC (WD&B)
     was interested, for the purposes of the Act, in 20,150,837 ordinary shares 
     of 25 pence each comprised in the relevant share capital, as defined in 
     section 198(2) of the Act, or Burtonwood PLC (the Relevant Shares);

b)   the present registered holders of the Relevant Shares are listed in 
     Schedule 1; 

c)   all of the Relevant Shares are shares in which WD&B is interested by virtue
     of section 208(5) of the Act.
