Board Changes
25 February 2003
The Board of Music Choice, Europe's leading digital audio broadcaster, announces
the appointment of Margot Daly, currently Chief Operating Officer, as Chief
Executive with immediate effect.
Margot replaces Simon Bazalgette who is leaving the company to pursue other
interests. Jonathan Apps, Chief Financial Officer, is also to leave the company.
Margot, aged 37, joined Music Choice in 1995. She was subsequently appointed as
Sales and Marketing Director in July 1999 and Chief Operating Officer in August
2000. With Simon Bazalgette, Margot played an important role in the flotation
of Music Choice in October 2000 and has been instrumental in negotiating
important distribution contracts with Sky and other platforms throughout Europe.
As the established European audio provider and with the number of digital homes
expected to increase steadily over the next few years Music Choice continues to
be well placed to develop a profitable growing business.
Commenting on the changes, Mike Thomas, Chairman, said:
"The markets in which Music Choice operates have changed dramatically since our
flotation in 2000. Simon and Jonathan's departure and Margot's appointment as
Chief Executive reflect our new management needs and operational focus. Whilst
it is always sad to lose such key members of the management team, we recognise
that this is an appropriate time for Simon and Jonathan to pursue other
opportunities and we wish them well".
Music Choice will be announcing Preliminary Results for the year ended 31
December 2002 on 26 March 2003.
