The 8 EMA was developed by one of the traders in Steve Bigalow's group.....T-line is buy/sell line for traders.

I hauled water for my trees I planted in the field. A barrel of water weighed 500 pounds so eight barrels plus trailer weigh was close to 5000 pounds. I would drive about five miles where the gravel road crossed the creek and I had a bilge pump that pumped 10 gallons/minute.

I heated my house with the firewood I cut. One time a tree blew down and the neighbor cut it up and took the wood. He was hunting on me since all the deer stayed on me. I had planted alfalfa in one section of the field and the deer and turkeys loved it. When I found out he was shooting towards a neighbor's house, I kicked him off. He got mad and pulled up the survivor stakes along the property line and mowed over on me. One of my English walnut trees died because the ground dried out. I don't mow around the trees since the grass shades the ground.

Measure all the cylinders with the reference plug and note the 12 o'clock position for all the cylinders. Calculate from the reference 12 o'clock position, the range of view to the intake valve or injector location. This is so easy, SigMoney could do it.

Mice build a nest in air cooled engines and they over heat.
The got my Kohler engine in my Bolens 1700 and I had to have the engine rebuilt.

Black smoke is oil burning and possible breather stopped up, bad rings, etc

Awwww I dunno.......All I know is that I just broke the connecting rod in my John Deere ride on......
Maybe it's cause I didn't have the spark plug indexed properly ?
Could also be why FOR YEARS it was just BELCHING black smoke.....
Had to buy and wear a special gas mask for each time I mowed the lawn.
Neighbours said it seemed real weird but I knew what I was doin'.
Gotta protect the lungs y'know....They're fragile after 62 years worth of smoking.

Here is the rest of the writeup:

Take the plug out and screw it into your reference plate. Now see where the mark lines up on the plate. Lets say it is at 170 degrees. Now that tells you that the #1 cylinder at 12 o'clock position is 170 degrees.

On a Chevy small block, the exhaust valve is at 10 o'clock and the intake is at 2 o'clock approximately. So now you want the plug to face the intake valve which has a good view of the plug from 12 to 3 o'clock or 0 to 90 degrees.

So now you can calculate that you want a plug that the open electrode faces in the range of 170 to (170 + 90) 260 degrees.

So on #2 cylinder, you measure the 12 o'clock position and it turns out to be 240 degrees. Since the intake valve is on the left, you subtract 90 degrees from the 240 degrees and get a range of 150 to 240 degrees for #2 cylinder.

Wink I am surprised that someone other than Honda hasn't come up with this procedure. I even use it on my utility and lawn tractor engines.

You can check your work when using the spark plug you have selected for a particular cylinder. Place the spark plug on the socket and use a piece of tape on the extension and mark which way the spark plug gap is facing. Then as you screw the new plug in, you can see whether the orientation is correct.

The Chevy small block uses a 14 MM insert.

I put a Doug Nash 5-speed transmission in it and with the 2:73 rear, I can get 26 MPG on the road.

I index the plugs on all my vehicles, so the spark plug electrode is not blacking the spark.

Indexing Spark Plugs

When we raced stock cars back in the 60's, we used washers under the plugs which was a lot of trouble.

My way can be used on any engine. What you are trying to do is determine where the thread starts on the spark plug hole.

You will need an aluminum plate about 10 inches square with a hole drilled in the center and a plug insert epoxied in the hole. The plate should be marked off in a 360 degree radius with 10 degree radi as shown in the picture.


What you are trying to do is find a reference point and in my case, I used the 12 o'clock position of the spark plug hole. So you take an old plug with masking tape wrapped around the spark plug top and screw it in #1 cylinder tight. Take a felt pin and mark the 12 o'clock position on the top edge of the plug. You may want to check a second time and use new masking tape each time to mark as accuracy as possible.

All core and RC samples were submitted to MSA's Fairbanks, Alaska facility. Certain sample shipments were shipped to MSA's Prince George, British Columbia facility to expedite analysis times. At either lab the entire sample was dried, crushed to 2mm and riffle split into nominal 500 g subsample jars for analysis (prep code CRU-CPA). ?Sample split jars were then analysed for gold using PhotonAssayTM (CPA-Au1). If additional nominal 500-gram PhotonAssay TM analysis splits are conducted for a given samples results from all splits are combined on a weight average basis. All initial PhotonAssay TM samples will undergo further analysis for a suite of 48 elements (IMS-230), with pulverization of jar contents to 85% passing 75um (PPU-510), with four acid digestion and ICP-MS finish.?QA/QC procedures for the drill program included insertion of a certificated reference material every 20 samples, blanks at rate of approximately every 25 samples and a field duplicate sample (split of the 1.5 m original sample) every 25 samples.
