CloudBees Announces MongoHQ Partnership, Extends Powerful MongoDB Technology to the CloudBees Platform

CloudBees, Inc., the Java Platform as a Service (PaaS) innovation
leader, today announced a partnership with MongoHQ, the leading
provider of cloud-based MongoDB data hosting and services. The
partnership adds the MongoDB solution to the CloudBees partner
ecosystem. With MongoDB, developers can more efficiently build and
scale their data layers. Integration with the CloudBees platform
will be available October 1.
CloudBees provides the only develop-to-deploy cloud platform for
Java and serves thousands of customers. It provides everything
developers need to quickly and easily develop and deploy
applications in the cloud -- without having to purchase, configure
and maintain hardware, and without having to program applications
for a specific underlying infrastructure service (IaaS). The
CloudBees platform includes a growing partner ecosystem that allows
users to add optional services to expand the platform.
By adding MongoHQ to its ecosystem, CloudBees enables users to
quickly create and extend a MongoDB-based data layer to their
various staging and production applications. With sizes ranging
from the experimental sandbox to full replica set to custom MongoDB
deployments, CloudBees customers can take full advantage of all the
features that MongoHQ offers via its fast cloud data platform.
Developers will have full access to all the benefits of MongoHQ,
including web tools for managing their data, performance analytics,
scaling and 24/7 monitoring of the data layer.
The MongoHQ cloud database will be available on the CloudBees'
ecosystem at the following service levels:
- Sandbox (free): Optional automated
backups and 16MB of data
- Small ($15/month): Dedicated MongoDB
instance; 2GB of data; optional automated backups; 24/7 monitoring
and query logs
- Large ($49/month): Dedicated MongoDB
instance; 5GB base storage ($1/GB/month extra); optional automated
backups; 24/7 monitoring; query logs; performance statistics and
graphing
- Replica Set Extra Large ($300/month):
Dedicated MongoDB instance; multi-availability zone replica set;
dedicated EBS volumes; 20GB base storage ($1.50/GB/month extra);
optional automated backups; 24/7 monitoring; query logs and
performance statistics and graphing
The MongoHQ partnership comes on the heels of CloudBees' June
2011 announcement of its partner ecosystem, which launched the
industry's first one-stop shop for Java application development and
deployment. CloudBees is continuing to extend its partner ecosystem
by bringing in additional third-party providers; companies
interested in partnering with CloudBees should send an email to
ecosystem@cloudbees.com. Anyone can try out the CloudBees platform
-- and many of the partner services -- for free.
"We're thrilled to be adding MongoHQ to the CloudBees partner
ecosystem," said Sacha Labourey, CEO, CloudBees. "Since launching
our partner ecosystem, we've seen an extremely positive reaction
from our developer community. Our customers appreciate the
opportunity to easily add additional services to the CloudBees
platform, all in a one-stop shop environment. We welcome the
addition of MongoHQ to our partner ecosystem."
"When we created MongoHQ, our primary goal was to make it easy
for developers to use MongoDB as the data layer for their
applications, allowing them to focus on their code instead of the
complexities of managing their data layer in the cloud," said Jason
McCay, MongoHQ CEO. "CloudBees shares this same core belief and has
pioneered it within the Java community. We are excited to partner
and offer MongoDB on this fast-growing and powerful platform."

About CloudBees CloudBees
(www.cloudbees.com) is the only cloud company focused on servicing
the complete Java application lifecycle for cloud development and
deployment -- without any servers, any virtual machines or any IT
staff. The CloudBees platform today includes DEV@cloud, a service
that lets developers take their build and test environments to the
cloud, and RUN@cloud, which lets teams seamlessly deploy these
applications to production on the cloud.
CloudBees is also the world's premier expert on Jenkins, the
most widely used continuous integration server. The company offers
a Jenkins service as part of DEV@cloud, as well as an on-premise
enterprise solution, Nectar, which is available as a subscription.
Backed by Matrix Partners and Lightspeed Venture Partners,
CloudBees was founded in 2010 by former JBoss CTO Sacha Labourey
and an elite technology team.
