Arco Resources Corp. (TSX VENTURE: ARR) ("Arco" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that Ben Whiting, M.Sc., P.Geo., has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Arco.

Ben Whiting has over 30 years of experience in the international mining industry. He has worked for both major and junior mining companies managing a wide range of operations from exploration through to production. He also has experience as an advisor on mining industry matters to government agencies, and is a former Adjunct Professor in the Geological Sciences and Mining Engineering Departments at Queen's University.

Mr. Whiting is currently the Chief Geologist for both Orko Silver Corp. and Orex Minerals Inc., and is also serving on the technical committee of the joint venture between Orko and Pan American Silver Corp. to decide on future development options for bringing the La Preciosa silver-gold deposit into production.

Mr. Whiting is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (APEGBC), Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (APGO), La Asociacion de Ingenieros de Minas Metalurgistas y Geologos de Mexico (AIMMGM) and a Fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists (SEG). He was awarded the Aaro Aho Foundation's prize in Economic Geology and received the 2008 IAC "Explorer of the Year" award for his role in the discovery of the La Preciosa. Mr. Whiting's technical experience in Mexico will be a valuable asset to Arco.
