Volaris (NYSE: VLRS And BMV: VOLAR), the ultra low-cost Mexican
airline which operates in Mexico, the United States and Central
America, becomes the first Mexican airline to receive the
prestigious Low Cost Leadership Award (LCL Award). This recognition
is granted annually by the international magazine Airline Business
to the management teams who have demonstrated excellence when
operating a low-cost airline.
The award, which was granted in London, England, is part of the
Airline Strategy Awards, an initiative, which under the guidance of
a panel of world-renowned judges, recognizes outstanding
achievements in the global aviation industry. The initiative
highlights the performance of individuals and airlines that have
demonstrated a successful vision in their growth and expansion.
The criteria that led to the recognition of Volaris was: its
innovative business model, its high growth rates, rigorous cost
control, integrity in their production processes, and the processes
to increase revenue through auxiliary channels.
Enrique Beltranena, CEO of Volaris, upon receiving the award,
highlighted the importance of ensuring good performance of all the
people that collaborate in aviation companies for the daily
operations, in order to provide the market with larger and more
efficient services. "In Volaris we are very proud to receive this
award, which acknowledges the extraordinary effort that our
Ambassadors do every day: get more people to experience flying to
great destinations."
Holger Blankenstein, Chief Commercial Officer of Volaris,
highlighted the relevance of this kind of recognition as a high
achievement: "For Volaris this award is more than an indicator to
measure operations performance and people’s perception of the
company. It is an incentive that motivates us to continue
innovating and keep challenging the aviation standards, while
staying true to our vision and mission at Volaris".
Volaris operations and development are based on three pillars:
safety, customer service and a low cost business model. These are
the foundations of a solid structure that fulfill the purpose of
bringing together family and friends, while offering the lowest
rates in the market.
Since 2002, the Airline Strategy Awards distinguishes the best
global companies in the industry in seven different categories:
Airline Business Award; Low Cost Leadership Award; Regional
Leadership Award; Executive Leadership; Finance; Marketing;
Technology, and Environment and Operations – all of this to
recognize the fundamental role of talented management in shaping
the success in the aviation industry.
This type of recognition reinforces our business-model and
purpose. We are successful when we offer our customers the best
flying experience, with the lowest prices and the most flexibility
in their travel plans.
