Canada GDP data for November and industrial product price index for December are due at 8:30 am ET Friday. Ahead of the data, the loonie climbed against the major rivals.

The loonie was worth 1.5524 against the euro, 81.91 against the yen, 0.9809 against the aussie and 1.2786 against the greenback at 8:25 am ET.
