Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. and BMW Group are teaming up to work on digitalizing the German car maker's business processes in China.

Under a memorandum of understanding signed Monday, the two companies will form the first online sales and services businesses engaging dealers among premium auto brands.

BMW and Alibaba said they will work with dealers to build a system that integrates car viewing, purchasing and maintenance on the Chinese tech giant's platforms.
