Eni's Var Energi Secures 17 Licenses Offshore Norway

Var Energi was awarded 17 exploration licenses off the coast of
Norway, said the company's majority owner ENI S.p.A. (ENI.MI) on
Wednesday.
The licenses--seven of them operatorships and 10
partnerships--span the North, Norwegian, and Barents Seas.
Var Energi is a result of the merger of Point Resources AS with
Eni Norge AS. The Italian energy major holds a 69.6% stake, with
the remainder owned by HitecVision A/S (HITV.NO).
