Danone SA (BN.FR) has led a $30 million investment round for U.S. coconut-water producer Harmless Harvest, the French company said Thursday.

Danone's undisclosed investment in San Francisco-based Harmless Harvest has been made through its venture arm Danone Manifesto Ventures, the food company said.

Mousse Partners, AccelFoods and other shareholders took part in the funding round, Danone said.

Harmless Harvest was founded in 2010 and markets fresh organic coconut water. It intends to use the investment to increase its production capacity, raise its brand awareness and expand distribution, Danone said.
