--The Russian unit of Alphabet Inc.'s Google has filed for insolvency, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing a message posted on Russia's official registry Fedresurs.

--The note said the Google unit was "submitting a notice of the intention to declare itself insolvent," according to the report.

--Google didn't immediately respond to a request for comment, Reuters reported.
