                    Non-executive Directors buy Datamonitor shares


Datamonitor plc is pleased to confirm that Russell Chambers, a non-executive
director, has purchased 25,000 shares in the company at 93p.


Michael Murphy, also a non-executive director, has purchased 22,000 shares in
the company at 92p.  On 8th October 2003 he was granted 100,000 options
exercisable at 90.5p from October 2006 to October 2013.


These purchases follow the Trading Update given on 7th October 2003.
